Jędrzej WITTCHEN, founder of the WITTCHEN company, is born in Międzychód near the German border.

At the age of 10, Jędrzej receives a present from his beloved grandfather – a well-used but beautiful wallet made from the finest leather.

Period of studies and travel around the world. In the result of WITTCHEN’s foreign voyages first leather products are brought to Poland.

WITTCHEN designs the logo that becomes the foundation of the brand. Initially, leather accessories are sold to the most exclusive boutiques in Poland. First brand stands are established.

Creation of the first luxury collection of leather accessories – Italy – which is still very popular.

| 1993 |
Dynamic development of brand stands and commencement of sales in the B2B segment.

Creation of the Venus-line classic handbag collection.

The birth of masterpiece among leather accessories collections – the Da Vinci line – the most exclusive WITTCHEN collection.

The company’s headquarters are moved to Łomianki near Warsaw. The company’s own building, offices, a show room and the factory outlet are located across an area of more than 3000 square metres. Introduction of the Elegance leather handbag collection and collection of gloves.

The company’s first salon is opened in Marszałkowska Street in Warsaw – marking the beginning of the company’s own retail network.

| 2003-2004 |
Intensive development of product range. The assortment is extended to include luggage, neckerchiefs and scarves, the Young handbag collection and elegant umbrellas.

Dynamic development of exports, main direction towards eastern markets, including Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. First own salons are opened abroad.

Extending the product range to include elegant, traditionally handmade footwear line for men and women.

A modern logistics centre with an overall area of 2500 square metres, including a bonded warehouse and quality department, is opened in Bronisze near Warsaw.
